Learn How to Navigate Docketwise

Overview

Whether you are new to Docketwise or just need a quick refresher on how to navigate Docketwise, you have come to the right place!

Below, you will find a diagram and outline for best practices and tips for navigating Docketwise:

Dashboard

The Dashboard in Docketwise shows everything most relevant to you on your Docketwise account at a glance!

Universal Search Bar

With the Universal Search Bar, you are able to search for your Contacts, Matters, and Forms. In addition, you can also see recently accessed Contacts and Matters at a glance!

Depending on your selection, you will either be taken to the Contact's Overview Page, the Matter's Overview Page, or the Smart Form that you selected.

Searching for Contacts/Matters/Forms

In order to search for a Contact, Matter, or Form, simply enter part of the name of the Contact/Matter/Form for which you are searching and select the desired option.

Accessing Recent Contacts/Matters

In order to view and select from the most recently accessed Contacts/Matters, simply click the Recents button and select the desired option.


Side Navigation Bar

From the side navigation bar, you are able to access the other various dashboards from within Docketwise

Forms Dashboard

From the Forms Dashboard, you are able to see all of your account's forms.

  1. After clicking on a form, you will be taken to the Smart Form.

  2. Here, you are able to filter the results.

  3. Here, you are able to search for the form.

  4. Here, you are able to choose which columns appear (click here to learn more).

Matters Dashboard

From the Matters Dashboard, you are able to see all of your account's matters.

  1. After clicking on a matter, you will be taken to the Matter's Overview Page.

  2. Here, you are able to filter the results.

  3. Here, you are able to search for the matter.

  4. Here, you are able to choose which columns appear (click here to learn more).

Contacts Dashboard

From the Contacts Dashboard, you are able to see all of your account's contacts.

  1. After clicking on a contact, you will be taken to the Contact's Overview Page.

  2. Here, you are able to filter the results.

  3. Here, you are able to search for the contact.

  4. Here, you are able to choose which columns appear (click here to learn more).


Contact Overview Page

From the Contact's Overview Page, you are able to see all information about a contact as well as all resources related to this contact on Docketwise.

  1. Here, you can find and enter a contact's relevant information (Note: information that is filled in here will automatically populate onto forms that ask for this information and vice versa).

  2. Here, you are able to see all resources related to this contact such as forms, matters, related contacts, tasks, notes, files, invoices, messages, events, portal, case tracking, time entries, trust accounting, and feed.

  3. When clicking the Create New ▼ button from within a Contact's Overview Page, that contact will automatically be selected as the associated contact for that form/matter/file/invoice/message/automated template.

Matter Overview Page

From the Matter's Overview Page, you are able to see all information about matters as well as all resources related to this matter on Docketwise.

  1. Here, you can find the matter's relevant information at a glance.

  2. Here, you are able to update the matter's details such as Name, Description, Priority Date, Preference Category, and Matter Type.

  3. Here, you are able to see all resources related to this matter such as case tracking, forms, tasks, notes, files, invoices, trust accounting, messages, events, feed, and time entries.

  4. When clicking the Create New ▼ button from within a Matter's Overview Page, that matter and the matter's primary contact will automatically be selected as the associated contact and matter for that form/file/invoice/message/automated template.
