Changing Firm Member's Name and Email

Learn how to change a firm member's name and email address within Docketwise!

If you need to change a firm member's name and email address for a reason (such as a change in employee or any other reason), you can do so in Docketwise.

Performing this will allow you to transfer tasks, matters, etc. from a former employee to a new employee.

This must be done within the firm member's account. You will need either:

• Access to the firm member's Docketwise account OR

• Access to the email associated with the firm member's account.


1) With access to the firm member's account:

If you have the login credentials to the firm member's Docketwise account, you'll first want to log into that firm member's account. Once logged in, you will access Settings > Personal Information.

Once here, you are able to update the first and last name, email, and password. Simply enter the information into the fields that you would like to be updated.

Once you have filled in the fields that you would like to be updated with the proper information, you will click Save Changes to save your updates.


2) Without access to the firm member's account, but with access to associated email:

If you don't have the login credentials to the firm member's Docketwise account but have access to the associated email, you'll first want to navigate over to the Docketwise login page.

From there, you will click the Reset Password button.

After clicking the Reset Password button, a window will appear, where you will enter the email associated with the account that you would like to update. Once you have entered the email address, you will click the Reset Password button

After clicking the Reset Password button, the associated email will receive password reset instructions. After opening the email, you will want to click the Change My Password button.

After clicking the Change My Password button, you will be taken to a page where you can reset the password associated with that account. Simply enter and confirm the new password and click the Change Password button.

After clicking on the Change Password button, you will be logged into that account. Now that you are successfully logged in, you will access Settings > Personal Information.

Once here, you are able to update the first and last name, email, and password. Simply enter the information into the fields that you would like to be updated.

Once you have filled in the fields that you would like to be updated with the proper information, you will click Save Changes to save your updates.
