Task Reports in Docketwise allow you to acquire insights into your firm as well as evaluate and find key metrics from your tasks and late tasks.

Types of Task Report

There are many reports that you may run on tasks in Docketwise depending on how you want the information to be presented.

Tasks by client

The Tasks by client report displays data related to the tasks created on your Docketwise account and is broken down by the client associated.

  • Displaying Data From: Tasks

  • Results Organized By: Grouped by client

  • Primary Columns: Title, Status, Contact, Matter, Date created, Due Date, and Assignees

  • Additional Available Columns: Complete, and Updated

  • Filters Available: Late Status, Assignees, Date created, Branch, and Completed Status

Tasks by matter

The tasks by matter report display data related to the tasks created on your Docketwise account assigned to each of your matters.

  • Displaying Data From: Tasks

  • Results Organized By: Grouped by matter

  • Primary Columns: Title, Status, Contact, Matter, Date created, Due Date, Assignees

  • Additional Available Columns: Complete, and Updated

  • Filters Available: Late Status, Assignees, Date created, Branch, Completed Status

Late tasks by client

The late tasks by client report shows information about overdue tasks established in your Docketwise account, broken down by the contact who created them/associated.

  • Displaying Data From: Tasks

  • Results Organized By: Grouped by client

  • Primary Columns: Title, Status, Contact, Matter, Date created, Due Date, Assignees

  • Additional Available Columns: Complete, Updated

  • Filters Available: Late Status, Assignees, Date created, Branch, Completed Status

Late tasks by matter

The Late Tasks by Matter report shows information about overdue tasks established in your Docketwise account, broken down by the matters associated.

  • Displaying Data From: Tasks

  • Results Organized By: Grouped by matter

  • Primary Columns: Title, Status, Contact, Matter, Date created, Due Date, and Assignees

  • Additional Available Columns: Complete, and Updated

  • Filters Available: Late Status, Assignees, Date created, Branch, Completed Status


Creating a Task Report

To create a task report, simply follow the instructions below:

  1. From the Docketwise dashboard, click the Create New ▼ button

  2. Choose the Report option

  3. Choose the Task category

  4. Choose the specific Task report that you would like to create


Applying Filters to Task Reports

After you've created a new report, you may begin adding filters to it. The filters offered will vary depending on the report being run.

In order to use a filter, simply select the filters that you would like to apply and click the Update button.


Adding Custom Columns to Task Reports

All the different Task Reports can be customized. In order to start customizing your Reports, you will first need to:

  • Navigate to the Report Type that you would like to customize

  • Click the ⚙️ Gear Icon

After clicking on the ⚙️ Gear Icon, you can then edit your Dashboard's columns by

  • Adding columns

  • Removing columns

  • Reordering columns

Adding Columns in Task Reports

To add a column to a report, simply click the Checkbox for the column from the options under Available Columns and save your changes.

Removing Columns in Tasks Reports

To remove a column from the Dashboard, simply unclick the Checkbox for the column from the options under Selected Columns and save your changes.

Reordering Columns in Task Reports

To reorder your columns for the Dashboard, simply drag and drop the column values under Selected Columns and save your changes.


Exporting a Task Report to a CSV File

After you have created a task report, you are able to export it to a CSV file, which can then be saved.

In order to export the report, you will simply click the Export button, which will download the report to a CSV file.
