In this article, we will cover the topic of paying bills/invoices utilizing a Trust Transfer. If you do not yet understand the basics of billing within Docketwise, we encourage you to check out this article.

To get started, you will first need to have funds available in your trust account for your client either at the matter-level or contact level.

If you have not yet done so, click here to learn more about sending a Trust Request.

Once there are funds that are available in the trust account, we are able to get started. You will need to create a new invoice or have one already created to apply the funds from the trust account.

Once have opened the invoice, you will click the Record Payment button near the top-left of the screen.

Once there, you will select the Trust Transfer option under Payment Type. You will then need to select whether the trust funds are being taken out from the client-level or the matter-level trust funds. Finally, you will choose from which Trust Account you are transferring the funds (the amount available is listed for you).

After this, you will continue to complete the rest of the required information for recording the payment such as Destination Account, Payment Date, Payment, and a description (optional).

After filling out all of the necessary information, click the Save Payment button and the payment using funds from the trust account will be recorded.
